Text Box: National Nursing Home Week May 10-16, 2009

The American Health Care Association is proud to announce this year’s National Nursing Home Week theme: “Nurturing a Love that Lasts”.  National Nursing Home Week will be held May 10-16, 2009, beginning on Mother’s Day.  “Nurturing a Love that Lasts” will encourage all to think of generations of parents and grandparents nurturing future generations to carry on life and family traditions.  A supportive and caring environment, such as a nursing home, encourages and enables residents and families to continue growing, learning and teaching through various ways.  Nursing home staff, residents and volunteers nurture a caring environment that values communication, relationships, and partnership.

Valley Nursing and Rehab Center would like to invite all families, friends and community members to come and participate in the week long festivities.

See page 3 for a detailed list of events and activities Valley has planned in celebration of this week—

National Nurses Week

In the daily scenes of the medical profession, none can fill such a warm and touching role as the nurse.  The nurse will touch the heart of a patient and family like few others, while also providing doctors and other staff with the support and skilled assistance they need.  May 6th through 12th is National Nurses Week, a week set aside to let all nurses know just how valuable their commitment to patients and staff really is.  Don’t let this week go by without offering your appreciation to at least one of these professionals who make such a meaningful difference in the quality of America’s healthcare.
