Enjoyable, Homelike Atmosphere

Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center strives to create an enjoyable, homelike atmosphere. While every department focuses on improving quality of life, we have a team solely dedicated to that purpose. Our Life Enrichment team provides various activities seven days a week.

Offering a Variety of Activities

The Life Enrichment Department plans and facilitates a variety of activities seven days a week, including crafts, music, exercise, reminiscing, games and parties. Activities promote comfort, joy, relaxation, and build self-esteem. The LED assists residents in maintaining and improving physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills, using adaptive equipment and modified activities as needed for full participation. We are dedicated to understanding each resident’s needs and learning their interests. The department offers scheduled group and one-on-one activities. The LED includes a beauty/barber shop for residents to receive services two days a week.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Residents have spent their lives as a vital part of the community, and as a volunteer you enable this legacy to continue. Opportunities are available for individuals, civic groups, school clubs, musical groups, church mission projects, and scouting programs. Volunteers are accepted year-round with completed paperwork, orientation, and a background check. To be accepted into our Volunteen program, an individual must be at least 14 years of age with completed paperwork, orientation, and parental consent. Whether a volunteer or volunteen, there is always a way to be a part at VNC.

Veterans Program:

At Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, we are honored to care for those who have served in the military and recognize veterans for their dedication to our country. The Alexander County Veterans Services have joined us in recognizing the veterans at VNC and have helped facilitate special programs and events. This allows our veterans to meet fellow veterans, reminisce, educate, learn, and have fun. Special military branch designations are available to be posted outside veterans’ doors.
